Minimum Requirements:

1. EDUCATION: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years of HVAC and Plumbing design experience under Professional Engineers supervision

2. EXPERIENCE: 10 year experience in the construction and execution of Mechanical, HVAC and Plumbing systems integrated into residential, recreational, office buildings, schools, dining facilities, commercial premises, water distribution networks and storage facilities

3. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:  Full knowledge of Technical English in order to prepare studies and report and to develop and present professional Power Point presentations

4. OTHER: Must have full knowledge of engineering practices, HVAC load calculations, economic principles, hydraulic calculation methods, detail design requirements and European/US standards and specifications

Position Description:

• Site based, primarily involved in residential, commercial and community based projects.

• Supervise the construction and testing of all mechanical infrastructure and equipment including, but not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, underground utilities, lift stations, pumps, water tanks, valves and controllers.

• Supervise the installation of all piping, ducting and underground services to ensure compliance with all specifications and relevant codes.

• Read HVAC, pipe/ductwork and utilities drawings, and ensure all work is completed in compliance with the approved layouts.

• Manage interfaces between mechanical and electrical installation e.g. AC units, fire alarm, sprinkler systems, kitchen suppression systems etc.

• Ensure all work is carried out to highest industry standards and strictly enforce work permit system and conditions on site.

• Review 30%, 60% and 90 % design packages, including drawings, scope of work, Bill of Materials, and preliminary cost estimates, for Mechanical/HVAC systems and equipment in residential and commercial projects, and provide comments relevant to executing the design during construction phase on site.

• Review piping network designs, hydraulic analysis calculations, and pump selection criteria

• Carry out full load condition analysis on major equipment to ensure performance acceptance tests are in line with the approval of the Performance Acceptance Certificate.

• Review and evaluate Construction Change Orders to ensure full compliance with standards and costs are in line with project budgets.

• Liaise fully with Proponent and all other stakeholder organizations during all phases of project.

• Be familiar with pneumatic and digital control systems, corrosion protection systems, and water tank designs.

Selection Criteria:

• The applicant must have full knowledge of all types of mechanical piping systems, underground utilities and corrosion protection

• Minimum 10 year experience in HVAC and plumbing design and construction of mechanical systems for residential, commercial and community facilities

• Fully conversant with UPC, ASHRAE and other applicable international and industry standards

• Fully computer literate, capable of using hydraulic analysis programs and applications in checking design standards and equipment performance

• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English with special emphasis on preparing technical reports and design studies

• Must be fully dependable, dedicated and work with minimal supervision
